Peijnenburg Kapitein Koek

Dutch bakery Peijnenburg’s line of children’s cake bars, under the brand name Kapitein Koek, now contain 30% less sugar and are free from artificial sweeteners. A 22.5g serving of product delivers 5.8g sugars.

Kinh Do Scotti

Kinh Do in Vietnam has launched Scotti brand ‘butter milk cream buns’ featuring DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) as well as added calcium. The DHA is said to aid the brain and cardiovascular system, while calcium strengthens the bones and teeth.

Green’s Lemon Meringue Pie mix

In Australia, Green’s has extended its range of convenience baking kits with the Entertain line, which includes Lemon Meringue Pie mix. It contains no artificial colours or flavours and is marked with a skill rating, on a scale of easy to advanced.

Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products Krusteaz Multi-Grain Waffles

Krusteaz Multi-Grain Waffles from Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products, in the US, are formulated with Corowise, a brand of cholesterol-lowering plant sterols, which are said to promote a healthy heart. The waffles are also low in fat and reduced in sodium.

Gourmet Raw’s Celestial Cacao Scrumptious Chocolate Brownie Cake

The Celestial Cacao Scrumptious Chocolate Brownie Cake, from Gourmet Raw, is Soil Association certified organic and described as handmade. The cake is free from dairy, wheat, artificial colours and flavours.

Pepperidge Farm Petite Twists

Pepperidge Farm in the US has introduced a new pastry product called Petite Twists. These puff pastry twists are made from layers of pastry swirled with cinnamon and raspberry or chocolate flavours and are said to contain less than 90 calories in two pastries.

Nippon Flour Mills Hello Kitty

Nippon Flour Mills in Japan has launched a cupcake mix featuring a Hello Kitty branding. It is available in two varieties: chocolate and milk. The pack carries a code readable via a mobile telephone from which consumers can download recipes that use the mix.

Mr Kipling Toffee Apple Bakewells

Manor Bakeries in the UK has taken its traditional Mr Kipling Bakewells product and added a toffee apple flavour. The Toffee Apple Bakewells are free from artificial colours, flavours and hydrogenated fat.

Cinnabon Crisps

Cinnabon in North America has launched Cinnabon Crisps - slices of cinnamon rolls toasted and sprinkled with Makara cinnamon. Cinnabon Crisps are certified kosher and free from trans fats.

Finsbury Food Group Nestle Toffee Crisp Munchies

Finsbury Food Group has worked with Nestlé to develop cake versions of the company’s Toffee Crisp and Munchies brand, to create a mini bite product. These have been introduced into the UK retailers Tesco and Morrisons.

Danone Densia

In Spain Danone has launched a new natural yogurt targeted at women over 40. Densia contains 25% of the RDA of calcium and Vitamin D and is available in three flavours: Natural, Strawberry and Natural with Sugar.
