It seems everyone is football crazy at the moment, including some of the world’s most successful brands. Here’s a selection of World Cup football products.

Not content with putting a Cross of St George on the lid, Loseley has gone one better by putting a cross in the ice cream too. Rumour has it that Lampard will manage the middle, while Gerrard takes the corners.

In the UK, Dairy Crest draped its number one milk drink brand – Frijj – with the cross of St George. Come on England!! (Ahem … sorry, we’re supposed to be unbiased.)

Warburtons Sliced White Rolls came out at the beginning of April and will still be around at the end of July in the UK, when the footballs have been packed away and the winners’ bus tour is a distant memory.

The Robert Wiseman Dairies special edition packs ran from 7 June for two weeks.

McCoy’s (a United Biscuits brand) introduced us to the Chicken Winger and Sausage Striker in April, in 50g packs at 55p each. So far, we’ve seen quite a few sausage strikers at World Cup 2010.


United Biscuits’ McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes encouraged people to enter an instant win competition by shooting a football into a goal for a chance to win prizes. It’s understood the promotion will not run in Algeria, where goals are rare.

‘African cheese kick 2010’ is Gouda mixed with African spice mixture Harissa Tuareg.

‘African choco kick’ is yogurt in a 500g glass jar with chocolate balls.

Germany have played well with the new ball at the World Cup, and German company Bauer launched Chocolate LaOla chocolate footballs for the rest of us to play with. No wonder they’re doing well!

Bauer also celebrated the first World Cup to be held on African soil with the launch of a fruit yogurt range called Afrika.

The Germans again, this time with a delicious ‘Corner of the month’, resplendent with football artwork and crunchy balls.

This Müller limited edition Snoopy pudding is more for World Cup referees than players (or perhaps it’s a Newcastle United theme).

Fromageries Bel has put a black and white football on the packaging of its Mini Babybel cheese.

SAB enlisted the creative skills of design house Berge Farrell to invent a premium collector’s can for the local and in-bound tourist market, paying homage to our South African roots and proudly toasting our host team as well. © Popsop.com
