Siemens launches lab-​grade purifiers

Siemens has introduced two compact de-​ionisation water purification systems for producing ASTM Type I water as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute. The LaboStar system purifies water from a pre-​purified water source, and the LaboStar TWF system purifies water from a tap feed source.

Installed at the dispense point with both systems is a positively charged 0.2 micron sterile filter – a bacterial/biological protection filter allowing the system to produce ultrapure water with endotoxin levels of less than 0.001 EU/ml.
