New MicVac customer in Sweden

Mölndal, Sweden – May 25, 2012

MicVac’s new customer, Grön Ko is acknowledged as a specialist in high quality meat from slow-growing cattle. This week the new ready meals factory in Karlstad, Sweden, was inaugurated by Governor Eva Eriksson. The new production facility enables Grön Ko to increase value to their meat products and provide the market with high quality products for the modern consumer.

“It is a great pleasure to see how small business invest and work regional to take an active responsibility for growth and development of locally produced food”, says Governor Eva Eriksson in her speech.

MicVac and Grön Ko first met two years ago. At that time Grön Ko was looking for a way to take their product one step further in the value chain. ”Our ambition is to use as much as possible of the meat from the cow and make it available for the modern consumer looking for quality”, says Knut Lillienau, owner and Managing Director, Grön Ko.

The base in the ready meals is beef from slow-growing cattle; Hereford and Aberdeen Angus. ”We are producing stews with long cooking times according to traditional Swedish recipes but also international style e.g. Boeuf Bourguignon. We want to give the consumer an opportunity to find the taste of natural and healthy food. You will be able to enjoy the genuine taste of properly made dishes without additives”, says Christina Jonsson, Designer and Food Entrepreneur, Grön Ko.

The product range, which consists of 6 recipes, will constantly be developed with added value products where taste and quality being the key words in the company’s product strategy. Grön Ko has been selling the meals in their own restaurant in Värmlands Bro since 2010. From next week the products will be available at Coop City in Karlstad, Sweden. Thereafter the products will gradually be available at the big food stores in the region.

MicVac is a total solution provider and assisted Grön Ko with the production line from filling to cooling. “MicVac’s knowledge was a valuable asset in designing our new factory”, says Knut Lillienau.
