A year with drop4drop and Life water

Rebecca Prescott21 Feb 2012

During 2011, ethical British bottled water company, Life water, supported its charity drop4drop in reaching nearly 100,000 people across Kenya, Zambia and India.

Through its bore-well projects, drop4drop provided numerous communities with clean drinking water.

The charity’s main focus in 2011 was working in India with some of the lowest paid people in India — the ‘untouchables’ — to provide safe, clean water sources close to the communities.

Towards the end of the year, drop4drop installed 45 new wells into 45 communities in the Routhulapudi district of East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. Co-founders of Life water Simon Konecki and Lucas White joined the drop4drop team to see some of the 25 wells Life sponsored in 2011.

Konecki said: “We are constantly amazed by drop4drop’s work. The team did a fantastic job in 2011 to ensure thousands of people were provided with clean drinking water. Clean water is an extremely precious resource and we continue to monitor our progress in the communities we’ve helped so far.”

“Last year was a hugely successful year at drop4drop, much to the help of Life water and our other supporters. We’re looking to have an even more successful year in 2012 with hundreds of new projects already lined up.” said Sam Pyant of drop4drop.
