This latest addition to Anlit’s ‘Kidi Bites’ supplement line is a fun, fish-shaped serving with high eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) concentration (270mg EPA with 65mg DHA) presented in a chocolate-like matrix.
EPA & DHA omega-3 fatty acids are known for their importance to brain and nerve development, function and health. Interventional studies and meta-analysis substantiate the benefits of omega-3 high EPA for children with Neurodevelopmental disorders, improving reading, spelling and behaviour.
The consumption of fish is declining among children, and the texture, taste and smell of omega-3 oil is often challenging for them. Anlit’s Kidi Bites technology overcomes challenges of unpleasant taste and aroma, providing a tasty and healthy solution for kids.
“Anlit is committed to providing healthy, yet tasty supplement solutions in a child-friendly format, to support optimal child growth,” said Shai Karlinski, vice president of sales and marketing for Anlit. “Kids are more sensitive than adults to the appearance and texture of food and supplements. While adults can rationalise the necessity of taking supplements that might be unappealing in appearance, taste or texture, children are not bound by such considerations. They like flavoursome products that are smooth, soft and easy to chew.”
Sigal Tepper, scientific director of Anlit, will conduct a seminar at Vitafoods 2014 called Putting it into Practice – Omega 3 in kids Nutrition on 8 May. Stressing the importance of omega-3 consumption for children, Tepper will cover practical aspects of the latest child-related omega-3 research.
