US organic food company Annie’s has announced the release of six new cookie variants, combining organic wheat with the great taste that consumers expect from cookies.
The brand’s cookie bites are available in new chocolate chip, oatmeal, and lemon drop varieties. Free from artificial flavours, synthetic colours, preservatives, hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup, the snack contain 140 calories per five-cookie serving. Packaged in resealable 5.5oz snack bags and available from US retailer Target, they feature a recommended retail price of $2.25 per bag.
Annie’s has also debuted a new range of chocolate chip, double chocolate chip and oatmeal raising cookies. Each variety provides 130 calories per serving and will be packaged in pantry-ready 8.4oz trays when they launch next month. Available from grocery and natural food retailers across the US, they have a recommended retail price of between $2.99 and $3.99 per tray.
Annie’s marketing director Robyn DeFina said: “Consumers should never have to make a tradeoff between great taste and quality ingredients, even when it comes to their favourite indulgent treats. Our new cookies fill a void in the cookie aisle for health-conscious consumers who want the best of both worlds: delicious flavour, minus the bad stuff. We’re excited to introduce six new varieties the whole family will love.”
