A brand of green tea leaf mints is looking to replicate its success in the US market after being stocked by a UK wholesaler.
Sencha Naturals is now being listed exclusively by health, organic and natural foods distributor Tree of Life. The leaf-shaped mints are available in five flavours – original, Bombay chai, Moroccan mint, pink dragonfruit and tropical mango – and are packaged in 60-mint hard case formats with a recommended retail price of £2.99.
The green tea leaf mints are naturally effective at combating bad breath while delivering all the antioxidant benefits of a cup of green tea; just three mints provide the same antioxidant levels for just five calories. All varieties are made from a special blend of organic Matcha and Sencha green tea, combined with stevia, fruit and citrus extracts, spices and peppermint oils.
The company is looking to exploit the emerging green tea market and replicate its success within the US, after being inspired by its founder’s travels through Asia.
Kirsten Sowerby, marketing manager for Tree of Life, explained more: “Green Tea Leaf Mints are not only good for you, they also help you conquer bad breath naturally as green tea actually inhibits the growth of oral bacteria. They are the perfect healthy and grown up alternative to gum and mints and have become a must stock staple for retailers and foodservice operators in the US. The brand is now looking to emulate that success in the UK and tap into this country’s acceptance of green tea, challenging consumers to think of it as more than just a hot or cold drink.”
The distributor predicts that the product’s combination of innovation and stylish packaging will appeal to consumers and provide retailers with a genuine impulse purchase opportunity.
