Archer Daniels Midland appoints Marschall I Smith

Archer Daniels Midland Company has appointed Marschall I Smith senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, effective 30 July 2012.

He replaces David Smith, who previously announced his intention to retire after 31 years with the company.

Marschall Smith joins ADM from 3M Company, where he was senior vice president, legal affairs, and general counsel. He will report to chairman, CEO and president, Patricia A Woertz.
