Arla Foods, Lactalis and Parmalat interested in Ebro Puleva

Filed by Geoff Platt

Denmark’s Arla Foods, France’s Lactalis and Italy’s Parmalat are all said to be interested in acquiring Spain’s Ebro Puleva’s dairy products unit.

Press reports have said that the three companies are “in talks” with Ebro Puleva, but Lactalis is believed to be in the lead.

Ebro Puleva currently has around an 8% share of the Spanish dairy products market, conducted through two companies: Puleva Food, which produces the Puleva brand; and Lactimilk, which produces Ram, El Castillo and Nadó.
