Domaine Clarence Dillon, producer of Château Haut-Brion (1st Classified Growth), Château Le Mission Haut-Brion and Château Quintus, launched ‘Clarendelle – Inspired by Haut-Brion’ in 2005 to provide wine lovers around the world with the opportunity to experience the expertise of the Haut-Brion winemaking team at a more approachable price point.
The Domaine Clarence Dillon agreement will see AWC exclusively distribute the Clarendelle brand within the Philippines market, as well as serve as the national agent for Haut-Brion, La Mission Haut-Brion and Quintus.
Comprising four selections – red, white, rosé and sweet – each Clarendelle – Inspired by Haut-Brion wine is crafted by the same winemaking team as Château Haut-Brion, using traditional Bordeaux varieties and methods.
Carefully matured by the Château, the Clarendelle wines are only released onto the market when they’re at their optimal maturity and ready for drinking.
“The Philippines is a rapidly growing market that demonstrates the appetite for quality wines across Asia,” said AWC Asia sales manager Jean Philippe Guillot. “Clarendelle is a ‘stepping stone wine’ that allows consumers new to fine wine appreciation the ability to recognise the quality and complexity of traditional Bordeaux styles.”
Clarendelle is the first new wine developed by Haut-Brion in decades. The brand was conceived and spearheaded by Prince Robert of Luxembourg, great-grandson of Clarence Dillon, the US financier who purchased Haut-Brion in the 1930s and whose investment ensured its long-term future.
