Campbell’s has today extended the range of products under its Bolthouse Farms brand, with the launch of four new organic dressings.
Available in a range of ‘bold’ flavours, the dressings are lower in calories and fat than existing products and are offered in two vinaigrette and two yogurt-based varieties.
The new products are avocado ranch and signature blue cheese yogurt dressings, plus a caesar vinaigrette and raspberry balsamic dressing.
They are USDA-certified organic, non-GMO, have no added preservatives or artificial flavours, and contain 60kcal and 5g of fat or less in each serving.
The dressings are all packed in 12oz square bottles, with a simple black label to highlight the culinary combination of ingredients in each one. They will retail with a recommended price of $4.49.
The products were developed by Bolthouse Farms, part of Campbell’s C-Fresh division.
C-Fresh general manager Todd Putman said: “There is double-digit growth for organic products across all food categories, including fresh produce, which is growing four times faster than conventional [produce].
“At Campbell Fresh, we’re accelerating innovation across fresh-refrigerated categories to meet evolving consumer preference for healthier options; and the new Bolthouse Farms organic dressings align with the increased demand for organic offerings.”
It follows the launch in January of a new line-up of yogurt-based spreads, including chipotle and garlic flavours to go alongside the plain version.
As well as the new organic dressings, Bolthouse Farms has added a cucumber ranch dressing to its range of refrigerated yogurt-based dressings. The new flavour is described as ‘a first of its kind’ in the refrigerated dressing category and contains real cucumber pieces, which contribute to a crunchy texture.
The yogurt dressing is gluten-free, contains 35kcal and 2g of fat in every serving, and is free from added preservatives or artificial flavours.
It will retail with a lower suggested price than the organic options – at $3.79.
All of the new Bolthouse Farms dressings will be available from this month in the refrigerated produce sections of retailers across the US.
