British confectionery brand Bonds of London has today unveiled a new packaging design for its range of bagged sweets.
The new packaging comprises an enlarged on-pack window to entice customers and improve shelf presence, while there are also eight new flavours including milk bottles, gummy mushrooms and peach rings. The design will also afford retailers greater flexibility of pricing, removing the £0.39 from price-marked packs and replacing it instead with a callout for the range’s ‘three-for-£1′ multi-buy discount.
The move will mean that stockists will be able to choose a price for the products that suits them.
The revamp is the next step in Bonds’ bid to update its confectionery offering, following the redesign of its Sweet Shop range of sharing bags in 2015. The brand was acquired by Innovative Bites, the UK importer of products like Warheads and Twinkies, in ‘a multi-million pound deal’ in April this year.
Vishal Madhu, founder and owner of Innovative Bites, said: “We are incredibly excited to launch our new-look packaging and to showcase it as part of the new three-for-£1 range, which was totally designed in-house by Bonds’ highly regarded innovation team.
“After close consultation with our existing customer base, we decided it was time to implement change and refresh the Bonds of London product range. We’re confident the reinvigorated packaging style and innovative new flavours will hold big appeal to customers, both old and new.”
Madhu revealed that the company had witnessed ‘increasing demand’ for its smaller pack formats, and said he was confident that the range could compete with Innovative Bites’ best sellers in the confectionery category.
Using natural flavours and colours for the sweets, the new packaging features full nutrition information in an easy-to-read format as well as portion controlled statements on the reverse to allow parents to clearly monitor their children’s intake.
Vegetarians will also be able to effortlessly identify product suitability thanks to some lines within the range being approved by the Vegetarian Society.
