Cadbury has won the 2009 Brammer Energy & Environmental Improvement Award. The 2009 Awards recognised the importance of product and service innovation and environmental factors in delivering improved business performance.

Cadbury won an award for its energy saving projects at the annual awards at the Manufacturing Forum organised by Brammer, part of Europe’s leading distributor of maintenance, repair and overhaul products and services. The 2009 Awards recognised the importance of product and service innovation and environmental factors in delivering improved business performance.

Working closely with Brammer, Cadbury has undertaken a number of projects at both its Sheffield and Chirk sites addressing compressed air system performance and drive train efficiency. The estimated annual energy cost savings from just four of these projects has equated to £170,000, or more than 1,000 tonnes of CO2. Through its ‘Purple Goes Green’ initiative, Cadbury plans to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% by 2020, and these projects have helped make a significant contribution towards this goal.

Cadbury is just one of numerous customers nationwide which are working with Brammer to address the issue of energy management within their production operations and as a result are enjoying significantly reduced energy consumption as well as lower carbon emissions.
