Capsicana has launched a new range of Latin American cooking sauces following the rise in popularity of Mexican and South American flavours in the UK’s restaurant sector.
The range includes a first-to-market Peruvian chilli and lemon sauce and a “unique” single-use Brazilian chilli and coconut sauce. The other two varieties are both Mexican-inspired – a hot chilli and garlic flavour, plus mild chilli and honey. Each pack features a pair of accessible and easy-to-prepare recipes that can be made in less than 20 minutes.
Capsicana said that the products would bring innovation and authenticity to its category, as well as providing busy working consumers with convenient and authentic meal options that they can create at home. The expansion to its range, it said, follows growth in the Latin American food market that has seen burrito outlets rise to become the country’s growing foodservice location.
The brand’s investment in the range has been complemented by a new packaging design that will feature across all of its products, significantly improving the brand’s on-shelf standout.
Capsicana founder Ben Jackson said: “Compared to what’s happening with Latin American food in the streets of our cities – whether it’s street food festivals, gourmet food trucks or high street restaurants – the retail market is seriously lagging behind. That’s because it’s been dominated by two massive players for years and, as a result, there’s been precious little innovation or commitment to authenticity. However, with the country riding a Mexican culinary wave and Latin food proving increasingly popular, we’re ideally placed to take advantage. We’re aiming to shake things up in retail and bring some sophistication and flavour to the sector. The British public absolutely loves this food; it’s time they were able to enjoy it at home.
“A new look and new products will drive higher rates of purchase across our entire range. We’re bang on trend and are committed to developing more Latin-themed products – this is just the start.”
