Rebecca Prescott6 Dec 2011

Cargill was presented with the Best Investor Award by Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Investment Coordinating Board of Indonesia at a ceremony held on November 30 in Palembang, Sumatra.

The award conferred to PT Hindoli, Cargill’s oil palm plantation in South Sumatra, recognises the company’s achievements in four key areas – business growth, corporate social responsibility and community development efforts; environmental conservation and sustainability programmes and exemplary employee-employer initiatives.

Anthony Yeow, president director of PT Hindoli, said: “We are honoured that our efforts to develop and grow our sustainable palm oil business in South Sumatra have been officially recognised by the Indonesian government. Moving forward, we will continue investing in and nurturing the partnership with our Hindoli smallholders, while helping to improve the lives of the community where we can.”
