Italian wine producer Carlo Gancia has launched a new low-sugar prosecco.
The new product, named Leggero, the Italian word for light, delivers just 65kcal and only 0.6g of sugar per 100ml serving.
The new light prosecco is made with Glera grapes and has an ABV of 11.5%, showcasing pear and apple flavours.
Suzanne Baker, commercial director of the Stonegate Pub Company, said: “This is every female’s dream come true. Prosecco is already considered one of the lighter drinks, and now with a skinny version, this is no doubt going to tap into the growing consumer trend for low calorie and low sugar products.
“It has all the hallmarks of one of our most successful launches to date.”
