Artisan coffee supplier Casa Espresso has teamed up with a cycling clothing company to produce a blend of coffee designed specially for cyclists.
Available in 250g and 1kg bags with a retail price of £6 and £21 respectively, the new limited edition Expedition coffee has been designed to get consumers’ “cogs turning for a full day in the saddle”, the Yorkshire-based company said.
The project is a collaboration with Pilgrim Cycling Co, a small clothing brand from southeast London that makes hand screen-printed T-shirts and accessories that celebrate the soulful side of cycling.
Pilgrim Cycling founder Tom Probert said: “I’ve always loved cycling and frequently found myself at the top of a mountain, in a café, enjoying a coffee and the view. It was during one such adventure when I realised that a Pilgrim range of coffee would be a great addition to our brand. Casa Espresso was the only company I really wanted to collaborate with and, fortunately, they were very enthusiastic about the prospect.”
Casa Espresso owner Nino Di Rienzo added: “Our collaboration with Pilgrim has been a great success. Our aim is to pass on the passion we feel for creating top quality blends, and Tom’s aim is to pass on the passion he feels for cycling and cycling apparel, so it seemed natural for us to work together.
“Because our coffee is hand roasted to order, we have full control of the roast which allows us to pull out and refine fantastic flavours to the customers’ taste or requirement.”
