Cawston Press has introduced two new pressed vegetable with apple juice blends to further build on the success of recent product developments.
The new Incredible Carrot and Terrific Tomato variants are packaged in 750ml Tetra Pak cartons. Made using produce that has been freshly picked and pressed at the peak of ripeness, the new drinks will be available from supermarket chains Tesco, Waitrose and Ocado with a recommended retail price of £2.49.
Terrific Tomato is made up of over 50% tomato juice, 40% apple juice and complemented by chilli, salt, and celery root juice; while Incredible Carrot consists of 68% carrot juice blended with 30% apple juice and a small amount of lemon juice.
They are set to capitalise on the growing popularity of vegetable juice in the UK’s grocery sector and follows two years after the launch of Cawston Press’ Brilliant Beetroot juice. Originally launched purely as a seasonal offering, Brilliant Beetroot has now become a permanent fixture and is the brand’s second best-selling still juice with year-on-year growth of nearly 200%, the firm said.
In February, Cawston Press additionally launched a range of chilled fruit juice drinks, which were followed by a canned offering for the adult soft drinks sector.
Cawston’s sales director Dan Broughton said: “Micah, our master blender, was quick off the mark in predicting the current upsurge in savoury flavours and these two vegetable-led juices consolidate our strong position in this sector. Brilliant Beetroot’s set a very high standard in terms of sales and we are equally confident of the new juices’ impact.”
