Organised by The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), in association with UK-based FoodBev Media, the awards attracted more than 150 entries from 23 countries in 16 different categories, and were judged by an international panel of experts.
The event was inaugurated by Issam Kazim, director, Dubai World Trade Centre, and was hosted by FoodBev Media group editorial director Bill Bruce and presented by Ishta Nyakooja from Jebelali International.
“The region’s food and drink industry has once again delivered a comprehensive range of innovations and initiatives,” said Bruce. “From new flavours and ingredients to packaging and foodservice developments, the judging panel was impressed by the passion and creativity demonstrated by many of the entries in this year’s awards, which demonstrated why the food and beverage industry is the fastest moving in the FMCG category, meeting and frequently exceeding the expectations of consumers and taking a leading role in global issues from health to environmental sustainability.”
