Frozen pizza brand Chicago Town has continued to broaden its range of products with the launch of a new Pizza Toastie snack.
The ‘unique’ product consists of a thin and crispy base, topped with cheese and tomato sauce. It can be cooked in a conventional toaster in just three minutes.
A first for market, the snacking product will be targeted towards the on-the-go occasion and taps specifically into the lunchtime, after school pre-dinner and late night snack occasions.
Its launch comes less than a month after the Dr Oetker-owned brand launched a sweet pizza, featuring a chocolate dough base and a variety of milk, dark and white chocolate toppings.
Chicago Town senior brand manager Richard Cooper said: “We’re excited to be the first UK pizza brand to launch this unique product.
“It’s a new and convenient solution to enjoying a pizza snack on the go, and it’s a great addition to our existing product portfolio.
“We’re always looking to expand our portfolio to target unmet consumer needs and this is a great example of product innovation which will drive category growth, especially in the convenience channel, to maximise impulse purchases.”
The new product will be backed by PR and social support and will launch in selected Tesco and Asda stores during October, before later being rolled out across other major supermarkets, both in store and online.
Chicago Town recently brought its ‘ultimate pizza hit’ message to life with a brand new masterbrand campaign, TV creative and through-the-line marketing plan representing an investment of over £5.5 million for 2016.
