Leading Greek yogurt brand, Chobani has announced that former Nestlé Waters North America CEO Tim Brown has been appointed its new president and chief operating officer.
Brown has replaced private equity executive Kevin Burns, who stepped down in December, and will become the company’s second highest executive.
With the appointment, which starts March 20, Brown will add traditional industry experience to the ever expanding Greek yogurt brand, and will be tasked with overseeing Chobani’s operations, sales, marketing, legal and finance teams, reporting to founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya.
Ulukaya said: “He’s the perfect person to partner with me.” Employees at Chobani were notified on Monday morning, according to a spokesman.
A Chobani spokesman also stated that Ulukaya has no intentions to leave, and that they haven’t discussed succession plans with Brown.
The greek yogurt giant, has seen considerable growth in the past decade, with annual sales of more than $1.5billion.
