Co-op wins awards for own-brand products
The Co-operative Food has picked up four gold and two silver medals at the 2012 Grocer Own Label Food & Drink Awards.
The awards reward outstanding products in the own-label category, and this year received over 700 entries.
Gold medals were given out to three of The Co-operative’s premium Truly Irresistible products, including the Lemon and Poppy Seed Loaf Cake, Somerset Vintage Cheddar and Basil Infused Olive Oil, with silver medals being awarded to the Truly Irresistible Sea Salt and Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Flavour Crisps, and Cod & Chorizo Fishcakes.
The Co-operative’s Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilau Rice also received a gold award in the frozen ready meal category.
Kate Jones, head of product development and farms, The Co-operative Food, said: “We put a lot of effort into creating delicious, great-value own-brand products for our customers, so we’re delighted that this has been recognised at these prestigious awards.”
