Coca-Cola celebrates 125th anniversary in US

As Coca-Cola marks 125 years of business, the company is thanking everyone who has helped make the milestone possible. Coca-Cola is thanking Terre Haute (US) – the birthplace of the Coca-Cola glass contour bottle – with a community celebration.
Coca-Cola Refreshments senior vice president of sales Mark Rahiya, said: “Today’s moment of thanks is about the people of Terre Haute, past and present, who have helped Coca-Cola reach this milestone. In 1915, innovative Hoosiers made an important contribution to Coca-Cola’s history by creating the iconic Coca-Cola contour bottle. Today we celebrate everyone in Terre Haute and Indiana who loves and enjoys Coca-Cola.”
The Coca-Cola Company will donate 25¢ for every six-pack of 8oz Coca-Cola contour glass bottles purchased now through December 31 to United Way of the Wabash Valley.
Coca-Cola has also partnered with the Vigo County Public Library to install a Coca-Cola and Hoosier archive exhibit as part of an ongoing effort to encourage educational programmes for students of all ages around the world, the company said.
