A spokesperson at Coca-Cola Enterprises told The Pittsburgh Channel that 17 workers would be trying to move the 17 employers currently working at the Washington-based facility to a nearby distribution centre, or will alternatively be offered severance packages.
The company plans to close the plant in March 2009 and move production to other plants in the area.
According to TPC, the bottling plant served 22 states at one time, but as consumers decreased spend on bottled water, and other Coca-Cola facilities expanded capacity, it was more efficient for the company to close the plant.
