Coca-Cola has debuted an exclusive, new drinks dispenser at Expo Milano 2015 that mixes and serves 88 different beverage options.
Coca-Cola Freestyle is an innovative touch-screen, Italian-style vending machine that allows consumers to choose from a broad range of sodas and soft drinks. Purepour technology is used to micro-dose water, sweeteners and concentrates, with the three ingredients stored separately in the machine. Only mixing the ingredients when a drink is ordered allows the dispenser to preserve the freshness, taste and aroma of the drinks, Coca-Cola said.
It also added that the fact that 54 of the 88 total drinks choices were low-calorie or zero-calorie, and caffeine-free, was testament to the brand’s continuing commitment to diversifying its portfolio in order to meet the needs and desires of its consumers.
Coca-Cola Freestyle also offers a considerable reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. As the machine is based on concentrated ingredients, the overall packaging weight is reduced by 40% and the need to ship liquids is limited, thus reducing emissions normally produced by traditional bottles and cans.
The technology is being exhibited at Coca-Cola’s pavilion as part of Expo Milano 2015, which will run until October.
