Coca-Cola releases five new can designs for the summer

Utilising ‘back to basics’, stripped-down branding, the new Coke can designs simply use the printed red and the material of the can itself to deliver summer-related subjects such as a beachball, sunglasses and surfboards.
The first can, featuring a sunglasses icon, launched mid-May with four other designs to be released over the next two months, culminating with a special 4 July stars and stripes holiday can. Sure to be collectable, expect to see collections for sale on eBay after 4 July.

The cans were designed by Turner Duckworth. They will be featured on packaging, in-store displays and TV ads in an integrated campaign devised in collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy and Coca-Cola’s ‘North America Creative Excellence team’. The designs seem also destined to appear on T-shirts, beach towels and the usual range of summer merchandise.
