Deans has started The Coffee Tasting Club to meet a demand for fresh, quality coffee.
A British entrepreneur has launched a new coffee subscription service, which will offer consumers an easy and convenient way for coffee lovers to sample a variety of fresh brews from around the world.
Launching this month, The Coffee Tasting Club will set itself apart from similar services by bringing together many of the UK’s best roasters to deliver a diverse range of international coffees. Many existing propositions, the company argued, only offered coffees from a single roaster.
The subscription service will meet an increasing demand, particularly among younger consumers, for fresher and higher quality coffees; figures from Mintel showed that just one in five drinkers chose an instant coffee more than once per day, while just 8% of consumers in their early 20s are opting for an instant coffee twice or more daily.
The Coffee Tasting Club director Robert Deans said: “There’s some great companies offering fresh coffee, delivered on a subscription basis, but to date, there’s nowhere with the infrastructure to supply coffee from an assortment of different roasters.
Like other coffee clubs, we’re totally flexible; members can change or cancel their subscription whenever they like, and can choose to have their beans delivered whole, or ground to their specification, but we don’t just keep our members stocked up with fresh coffee – we supply them with a variety that can’t be matched.
At present, we offer coffees from Nottingham’s own 200 Degrees, as well as Horsham Coffee Roasters, Footprint, North Star, Small Batch, Climpson & Sons, and York Coffee.”
The company also has plans to team up with a number of other coffee suppliers. Although the club will be limited to 150 subscribers in the first instance, availability is expected to be increased before the end of the year.
