Coke close to acquiring CCE?

Filed by Shaun Weston

According to reports, Coca-Cola is close to acquiring the North American operations of Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE).

The deal could be worth $13-15bn. If the acquisition goes through, it will grant the company greater flexibility and control over how it distributes its drinks to various customers.

Coke holds a 35% stake in CCE, which bottles and distributes in parts of Western Europe, too.
