Darrell Lea up for sale placing 700 jobs at risk
It has been reported that confectionary icon Darrell Lea has been placed in administration after 85 years of operation, putting the future of its stores in doubt.
PPB Advisory is acting as administrator for the company, which employs 700 staff across its retail and manufacturing network, according to The Australian.
The company, which began selling sweets from a pushcart in 1927, now sells a range of chocolates, liquorice and lollies at 1800 retail outlets around Australia, New Zealand and the US.
