Dorset Cereals takes precautions with cereal withdrawal
Dorset Cereals has withdrawn packets of its Simply Fruity Muesli with a ‘best before’ date of January 2011 and batch codes of MJ0075 and MJ0088, because the product contains Brazil nuts and hazelnuts that are not mentioned on the product label.
This makes the product a possible health risk for anyone with a nut allergy.
The Food Standards Agency has issued an ‘Allergy Alert’ advising anyone with a nut allergy not to eat the product. The affected packets were only sold through Tesco stores after 31 March 2010. Packets of Simply Fruity Muesli sold by other retailers are not affected.
