So, how does it work?
Well, the first stage is to freeze a ball of water. Then two coatings are applied, one of calcium chloride and another of algae extract. The result is a clean, clear gelatinous layer containing a few gulps of water.
The ball can be held in the hand. The water can be drunk. The pack can be consumed or discarded.
There are still many questions to answer, but congratulations to the students at Imperial College, London, who invented it with the project name of Ooho.
