Empire Bespoke Foods has launched two Swiss-made ‘gourmet’ instant coffees in the UK, signalling its entry into the country’s speciality coffee market.
The new brands are produced in Switzerland by the Hors’ Group using 100% Arabica coffee beans and containing only the top 20% of coffee beans from each crop.
Bushido is a range of three Japanese-inspired coffee products that blend eastern culture with western coffee-making expertise. Empire Bespoke Foods will offer three variants of the coffee: original, black katana and gold 24k, which features rare grades of 100% high-hill Arabica beans from Equatorial Africa with the addition of 24-carat edible gold.
Bushido is produced using advanced freeze drying technology, which helps to retain more natural ingredients and deliver ‘a more delicate taste and extraordinary aroma’, the company said. It added that the Hors’ Group had chosen to produce the instant coffees in Switzerland ‘because of their advanced technology and ability to recreate the authentic taste of smooth and fruity, wood-roasted Japanese coffee’.
Empire Bespoke Foods is looking to pocket a share of the UK’s speciality coffee market.
It is joined by the newly launched Egoiste range. The coffee is produced using a patented ‘In-Fi technology’, which evenly distributes the natural, finely ground roasted coffee among all the soluble coffee crystals. This results in granules of instant coffee with grains of natural, finely ground roasted coffee inside each freeze-dried particle, leading to a cup that is full of the rich aroma of a freshly roasted brew and leaves natural coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup.
The Egoiste range comprises four distinct products offering a wide range of aromas and strengths, presented in elegant, eye-catching packs which feature the Swiss flag and also highlight the unique In-Fi Technology.
Commenting on the new ranges, Empire Bespoke Foods sales and marketing director Nick Thomas said: “As part of our continuing commitment to inspire our customers with quality products and indulgent flavours from around the world, we are delighted to launch two superb brands in Bushido and Egoiste.”
Recommended retail prices for the 100g packs of Bushido range from £7.15 for the Bushido original and £8 for the katana black all the way up to £30 for the exclusive Bushido gold 24k. For the Egoiste range, the recommended retail price is between £8.10 and £8.82 for a 100g pack, with a 50g Egoiste Special pack available at £5.15.
Retailers can order direct from Empire Bespoke Foods or can purchase Bushido from their usual wholesalers or cash and carries.
