European Bottled Water Federation re-elects president

Hubert Genieys, senior vice president of corporate communications and sponsoring for Nestlé Waters MT, has been re-elected as president of the European Federation of Bottled Waters (EFBW).

Mr Genieys will serve a second two-year mandate as EFBW’s chairman, providing experienced leadership to the federation as it moves forward with its commitment to promoting the high quality and safety standards of the industry, protecting the specificities of natural mineral and spring waters at the European and international level, as well as demonstrating the industry’s strong commitment to protecting the environment.

His appointment was decided at EFBW Annual General Meeting from 24-26 June 2012 in Berlin. Other members of EFBW’s executive committee include vice presidents, Mr Ettore Fortuna of Mineracqua, Mr Marc du Bois, CEO of Spadel and Mr Francisco Vallejo CEO of Aguas de Bronchales.

EFBW secretary general Patricia Fosselard, said: “Hubert Genieys’ vision has been instrumental in launching a number of important initiatives for our sector. His leadership has enabled our members to align on common issues and he has played a pivotal role in strengthening EFBW in Europe and abroad. We look forward to his continuing contribution.”

With a track record of more than 20 years experience in the bottle water sector, Mr Genieys joined Perrier in 1992 and since 2009 he has served as senior vice president of corporate communications for the water division of Nestlé based in France.

EFBW has just announced a new EFBW Award which seeks to identify creativity and best practice in ‘Communicating the benefits of bottled water for healthy hydration’ by EFBW National Association members. The award is in association with FoodBev Media's Water Innovation Awards.
