European chia seed drinks brand Wow has launched in the UK, having secured listings with a number of major retailers.
The chia seed juice is available in four flavours, each offering an exceptional combination of powerful nutritional benefits: watermelon and pomegranate; orange, mango and carrot; apple, spinach and kiwi; and blueberry, pear and lemon.
Wow is made by carefully cold-pressing high quality fruit and vegetables with the addition of hydrated chia seeds. This means that each drink is 100% natural with no preservatives and no added sugar, containing 33% less sugar than some other drinks on the market.
Each bottle of Wow contains 11.36g of chia seeds, delivering protein and fibre to increase metabolic health and reduce cravings; omega-3, which helps lower cholesterol and reduce blood pressure; as well as iron to ensure an extra energy boost; and calcium to enhance hair, nails and skin.
The drinks are raw, cold-pressed and high pressure processed to deliver the natural goodness, vitamins and minerals from all of the fruit and vegetable ingredients.
The brand has secured initial listings with major retailers such as Selfridges, Whole Foods Market, Planet Organic and Harrods.
Oliver Dickinson, co-founder of Wow Food & Drinks, said: “Having experienced the health benefits of chia seeds first hand, we wanted to share this experience and deliver a product which makes people feel amazing. Accessible and convenient, wow will be available nationwide through our latest listing with Ocado where each bottle combines the natural goodness of fruit and vegetables with the intrinsic wellbeing benefits of chia.”
Wow Food & Drinks will seek to be a pioneer and challenge the existing juice category. Founded in London by young entrepreneurs Oliver Dickinson and Rory Paterson, the company is aiming to disrupt the drinks market through its bold approach to product innovation, becoming the first company in Europe to be granted FSA approval to produce chia seed-based drinks.
The brand had earlier launched in Germany, with listings in major German supermarkets Kaiser, Tengelmann and Edeka, as well as Austria’s Spar.
It is also available in Scandinavia.
