The European Federation of Bottled Waters has partnered with FoodBev Media’s annual Water Innovation Awards to create the EFBW Award – which seeks to identify creativity and best practice in ‘Communicating the benefits of bottled water for healthy hydration’ by EFBW National Association members.
Designed to recognise excellence, creativity and innovation in the international packaged water industry, the Water Innovation Awards began in 2002 as the bottledwaterworld awards.
For many years, the National Association members of EFBW have effectively communicated the benefits of healthy hydration to consumers, governments and the media. This year, that achievement will be celebrated with the EFBW Award.
EFBW president Hubert Genieys.“We are delighted to partner with FoodBev Media’s established Water Innovation Awards scheme to draw attention to the excellent work carried out by the 28 National Association members of EFBW.”
EFBW secretary general, Patricia Fosselard, said: “As the European Federation responsible for representing types of packaged waters across Europe, we are continually impressed by the innovation and creativity displayed by EFBW national associations to promote the vital role of water for health.
"We hope the EFBW Award will celebrate these actions and be a source of inspiration to others, both in Europe and internationally”.
FoodBev Media group editorial director Bill Bruce, said: “FoodBev Media’s Water Innovation magazine has worked closely with EFBW for many years and published many of the success stories around generic healthy hydration campaigns both on www.foodbev.com and in the magazine.
“It is only natural that we provide context for this essential work against the backdrop of our established Water Innovation Awards, and we look forward to announcing finalists and winners in Barcelona in October.”
The EFBW Award is open to entry by each National Association member of EFBW for all generic hydration communication initiatives since 1 January 2011.
Entries close on 24 August and in September an international panel of judges will assess each campaign or initiative.
The finalists and winners will be announced at a special gala dinner as part of the 2012 Water Innovation Awards during the 9th Global Bottled Water Congress in Barcelona, Spain, on 9 October 2012.
All entries will feature in the 2012 Water Innovation Awards Showcase magazine alongside the entries to the Water Innovation Awards. The Showcase will be available with Water Innovation magazine, via www.efbw.eu and www.foodbev.com and as a digital publication online.
