Financials May 2011: Frigoglass, Asda, Campari, Wiseman

The latest financial news for May 2011 includes Asda’s sales increase, Frigoglass’ net profit increase and Wiseman Dairies’ 3.5% increase in turnover.

12 May: Frigoglass consolidated net sales increased 44.6% to €134.8m for the first quarter of 2011. At a Consolidated level, Operating Profit (EBIT) advanced 65.5% for the quarter to €16.5m, reflecting the strong rise in sales and the positive effect of operating leverage. Net Profit increased 85.3% to €8.7m from €4.7m the previous year.

12 May: The board of directors of Davide Campari-​Milano S.p.A. approved the results for the first quarter ending 31 March 2011.

  • Contribution after A&P: €109.2m (+16.5%, organic growth +10.6%, 40.7% of sales) · Ebitda before one-​offs: €69.4m (+17.4%, organic growth +11.5%, 25.8% of sales) · EBIT before one-​offs: €61.6m (+17.9%, organic growth +11.4%, 23.0% of sales) · Group pre-​tax profit: €50.5m (+16.6%) · Net financial debt at €618.7m (down from € 677.0m at 31 December 2010).

17 May: Asda Q1 Easter adjusted like for like sales up by 0.8% exc VAT, and by 1.7% inc VAT. Read the official Asda release here.

18 May: Robert Wiseman Dairies posts a 3.5% increase in FY 2011 turnover to £917.5m, with operating profit declining 29.7% to £35.3m.

18 May: Total turnover for the Eckes-​Granini Group rose by 3.0% to €852m during 2010. Revenue from the core fruit beverage business (excluding bottled water distribution in Hungary) amounted to €831m, a gain of 3.7%. Volume sales rose 2.5% to 1,061m litres.
