Also in attendance was Dr Helmut Schwarz, plant manager at Krones’ facility in Rosenheim, and head of packaging technology.
This commitment to the future was the biggest single investment by Rosenheim’s only privately owned brewery in the past 20 years.
Flötzinger can run 30,000 bottles an hour, or 500 bottles a minute on its new line, adding up to 30 million fills a year.
Flötzinger Bräu has opted for Krones’ sophisticated, field-proven technology in its entirety, from the brewhouse, then the bottle washer and the filler all the way through to end-of-the-line packaging.
By investing in the new filling process, the product stability of Flötzinger’s beers is optimally guaranteed and Flötzinger Bräu can progress the expanding sales of its beers, which now have a longer shelf life while still retaining quality.
“For us, the decision to opt for Krones also demonstrates our corporate commitment to our home town and our roots,” said Marisa Steegmüller. “As a top-ranking regional brewery, we want to buy our kit from a top-ranking regional vendor. When the quality of our beer is assured by this technology, then the jobs are safe as well.”
