This is one of several actions that FDF, working with partners, has identified as necessary for the sector to innovate to grow sustainably by 20% by 2020, highlighted in FDF’s new Delivering Sustainable Growth Through Innovation vision.
To achieve its 2020 Vision For Growth, a shared ambition with government, FDF has identified 10 long-term innovation priority areas to be addressed at the pre-competitive stage. In order to do this and enable the sector to continue to produce healthy, affordable and sustainable food and drink, FDF has also set out three vital, overarching ambitions. These include:
Ministers from the Departments for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) supported the vision’s launch.
