Graham’s The Family Dairy has launched an “exciting” new range of quark, with multiple listings confirmed across the UK.
Available in stores from this month, Graham’s quark is smoother in texture than continental-style quark, offering consumers an alternative to imported quark. The soft cheese is natural, fat-free and high in protein – and can be used in a number of sweet and savoury recipes, the Scottish brand said.
The brand has secured listings for the new range with supermarket chains Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Ocado, as well as additional listings in Scotland only with Asda and Lidl. There are two flavours currently on offer: the natural flavour will be stocked in all stores, while some retailers will also offer the vanilla variety.
Their introduction follows the announcement last year that Graham’s would extend its range of dairy products to include quark, cottage cheese and soured cream.
“The majority of quark on offer in the UK is imported from Germany and we firmly believe that ours is a superior, smoother and hugely versatile quark that tastes fantastic,” said Robert Graham, managing director of Graham’s The Family Dairy. “New product development is crucial for our business and we’re delighted to be entering this market at what is an exciting time of growth for the product. We’ve a large number of great listings across the UK and we plan to expand our reach further in the coming months.”
Carol Graham, marketing director for Graham’s The Family Dairy, added: “High-quality, great-tasting, local produce has always been at the heart of our range and our quark is no different. Quark is a fantastic, versatile product that the whole family has been experimenting with. We all try to ensure we eat a healthy diet, so as a naturally low-fat, high-protein product that tastes lovely, it’s a great option and is incredibly easy to use. In terms of the market, quark will appeal to slimmers but also those people simply looking for naturally healthier, low fat options.”
