Holy Lama has extended its Spice Drops range with the addition of two new citrus varieties.
The orange and lemon flavours join Spice Drops’ existing line-up of concentrated herb and spice extracts, and follows the introduction of a contemporary new packaging design for the brand. They are intended as a high-quality option for baking operators, who appreciate that the speed and convenience of using an extract instead of grating the rid themselves.
Four drops of the orange Spice Drops is equivalent to the zest of half an orange, while two drops of lemon Spice Drops equates to the zest of one whole lemon. Both can be used to effortlessly enhance and intensify the orange or lemon taste of cakes, biscuits, desserts or chocolate, Holy Lama said, while they can also be used in beverages.
Spice Drops are flexible, boast a shelf-life of three years and, according to the brand, produce much more consistent results as dried herbs and spices can lose their flavour very quickly.
The full Spice Drops range is made using fresh produce mainly from local farms in Kerala, India. They are all natural; contain no salt, sugar, artificial colouring, flavouring or preservatives, as well as being gluten free and suitable for vegans. They are also ethically sourced and ethically produced; the products are handmade in the factory in Kerala, which is a women’s enterprise providing employment mainly to disadvantaged women.
