Northern Irish mushroom producer Hughes Mushrooms has secured its first listing with Tesco for its Filled Full Of range of stuffed mushrooms.
The range, which launched earlier this year, is being rolled out in 15 Tesco stores across Northern Ireland in four varieties: garlic cream cheese, leek and wensleydale, bacon and rosemary, and tomato, chilli and feta.
The new ready-prepared selection is aimed at busy customers who want flavoursome and nutritional fresh meal ideas that look and taste like they have been prepared at home, Hughes Mushrooms said. Research and inspiration for the Filled Full Of range focused on creating meals, or side dishes, which combined the core ingredients of flavour, quality, nutrition and convenience.
Hughes Mushrooms director Emmet Hughes said: “As one of the UK’s largest mushroom producers, we are delighted to share the news that our own brand Filled Full Of range has made it into Tesco. We have big plans for the range and it is a great start to secure a prestigious contract, allowing us to really showcase the quality and unique flavours of the locally grown range with customers across Northern Ireland.”
Hughes Mushrooms, which is Northern Ireland’s largest mushroom producer, already supplies 240,000 tonnes of mushrooms each week to a range of supermarkets, food processors and wholesalers across the UK. The family-run County Tyrone business works with a network of over 25 growers across Northern Ireland and employs a 100-strong workforce.
