Kettle has launched a new range of vegetable chips as it aims to ‘reinvigorate’ the UK’s vegetable chips category and help retailers maximise opportunity and recruit new consumers into the category.
The vegetable crisps market is currently worth £15.3 million, but sales are down by 4.4% year on year.
The new Kettle vegetable chips sharing range offers a mix of parsnip, sweet potato and beetroot chips with three individual seasonings – lightly salted, honey and black pepper, and sea salt and balsamic vinegar. The seasonings have been carefully selected to complement the vegetables and offer an alternative to potato crisps. A handy pack is also available for the lightly salted variant, which will help the brand to tap into individual snacking occasions.
Kettle Chips, which hopes that the standout packaging will help to boost awareness and consumer interest, has developed distinctive colour coding for the packs to represent each of the seasonings and aid consumer selection.
Kettle Foods sales director Nicola Robinson said: “Kettle veg chips represent a fantastic opportunity for retailers to capitalise on the continuing consumer trend towards more premium snacking options. As the UK’s number one premium crisp brand, coupled with our seasoning expertise, we are confident that we will delight consumers and drive fantastic growth into the vegetable chips market.”
