US coffee roaster La Colombe has added two plant-based beverages to its range: coconut milk draft latte and coconut milk mocha draft latte.
The drink is sourced sustainably from mature coconut trees grown in Sumatra, Indonesia. Each can has 5g of added sugar, the equivalent level of caffeine to 2.25 cups of coffee and is made with non-GMO ingredients.
Launched by La Colombe to coincide with summer, the ready-to-drink beverage is now available at 25,000 points of distribution across the US.
La Colombe co-founder Todd Carmichael said: “We have over two decades of R&D, serving plant-based alternatives in our café.
“And although I practice science without a license, I am uniquely qualified to say the natural fat content in coconuts make for the perfect frothed texture to mix with espresso.”
These new varieties will join La Colombe’s existing lineup, which includes the original draft latte, vanilla draft latte, mocha draft latte, triple draft latte, and chai draft latte.
