Pie and pasty manufacturer Lewis Pies has secured a distribution agreement with convenience retailer Nisa.
The partnership with Lewis Pies will enable Nisa to sell the Wales-based company’s unique product ranges to a wider customer base throughout the UK. They include the Crescent line of halal-certified pies and pastries, which FoodBev recently reported had secured distribution in the Middle East.
Nisa operates more than 2,500 independently owned retail stores across the UK, and joining forces with the company “will offer both businesses the perfect partnership,” Lewis Pies claimed.
Lewis Pies managing director Wilf Lewis said: “This is a great partnership for the company, as Nisa is an extremely popular and successful retailer around the UK. Being able to introduce our products and expose our brands to a wider market is something we strive to achieve. Our halal range is constantly expanding and working with Nisa will allow us to take this even further.
“We already have distribution agreements with some national retailers such as Tesco but it is also very important to us to make these products available to communities at a very local level. Nisa understands the quality of our offering and the support we want to give to independent retailers. We are looking forward to a very long and successful relationship with the group.”
