Filed by Bill Bruce
McDonald’s in the US has kicked off a summer-long celebration in honour of the iconic Happy Meal’s 30th birthday.

The campaign began with the newest Happy Meal promotion with Twentieth Century Fox’s Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and continues with McDonald’s search for the ‘Happiest Cities for Families’ in America, plus a new Happy Meal Birthday website.
McDonald’s will unveil the top 10 ‘Happiest Cities for Families’ through a 30th birthday red carpet celebration in the ‘Happiest City’ this July.
McDonald’s Happy Meal fun facts

- Star Trek was the Happy Meal’s first movie tie-in, with a ‘Star Trek Meal’ featuring images and games based on the 1979 movie, as well as a comic strip adaptation.
