Australian winemaker McGuigan Wines has launched its new Founder’s Series in the UK – a trio of limited-production wines that have been created with socialising and entertaining in mind.
An homage to McGuigan Wines’ founder, the range features a fruit-led Barossa Valley shiraz, an elegant chardonnay from the Adelaide Hills and a “unique” cabernet sauvignon from Coonawarra in South Australia.
Selected from three of the finest wine producing regions in Australia, the range is made from the best parcels of fruit from each individual region, McGuigan Wines said, and the wines exhibit the distinctive individuality of their respective regions through intensity and character.
The shiraz and chardonnay will launch in Sainsbury’s this June with a retail price of £10.99 per bottle.
To celebrate the launch, TV presenter and chef John Torode has developed recipes that perfectly match each wine, complementing their flavour characteristics to deliver an enhanced food and wine experience to consumers.
Torode said: “It was a pleasure to work… on creating the perfect food pairings for this new range. We really wanted to embody the true Australian style of entertaining with friends and family, and each of the recipes will prove a delicious accompaniment to the individual flavours of the wines.”
