Milk Link to increase Member milk prices

Rebecca Prescott19 Oct 2011

Milk Link is to increase its Member milk price from November by 0.50 pence per litre (ppl) for both manufacturing and liquid schedules.

The latest increase means that Milk Link’s standard litre Member price for both manufacturing and liquid milk will now be 28.50ppl.

Neil Kennedy, Milk Link chief executive, said: “This latest price increase will give a further much needed boost to our Members at a time when their dairy businesses are under considerable financial pressure. We remain committed to paying a sustainable return to our members to reflect their financial commitment, hard work and dedication to producing high quality milk.”

The price increases apply to all Milk Link Member schedules with the exception of organic which will remain in line with the OMSCo ‘alliance’ price.

Milk Link has also announced a 0.50ppl increase in the price paid for milk supplied by its non-member ‘direct’ dairy farmer suppliers effective from 1 November with the exception of those who are linked to a basket of prices schedule.
