Milk Link to invest in butter processing at Lockerbie

Milk Link is to upgrade its butter processing capabilities at its award-winning Lockerbie Creamery. The investment of more than £350,000 will see the installation of an additional bulk butter production line capable of handling a range of sweet cream, blended and spreadable butters.
The new investment will increase Lockerbie Creamery’s butter production capacity by 2,000 tonnes and will increase the range of butters that Milk Link is able to offer its customers.
Milk Link currently produces more than 8,000 tonnes of butter in Lockerbie, predominantly for leading foodservice customers. Its branded foodservice offering includes Bladen butter and Country Life.
Commenting on the new investment, Milk Link operations director, Mark Robertson, said: “This new investment will help develop our butter-making capabilities in terms of the range and quality of the products we can offer. Overall, the investment is great news for all at the Lockerbie Creamery and gives us a further boost as we enter the new year.”
