Snack brand Mr Trotter’s has extended its Great British pork crackling range with the launch of a new Pork Crunch variety.
The new product differs from conventional pork crackling as it is “feather-light”, crunchy and lower in fat. This is because the fat is removed before cooking, resulting in an array of light and fluffy pork pieces that are then dusted with Mr Trotter’s unique sea salt and yeast seasoning to achieve the brand’s characteristically porky flavour.
Priced at £2.49 per 80g bag, Mr Trotter’s Great British original Pork Crunch extends the brand’s existing offering of original, jalapeño and English mustard pork scratchings, which FoodBev first introduced back in January. It will launch exclusively in Selfridges this month before being added to pubs, farm shops, delis and garden centres nationwide.
Mr Trotter’s co-founder Matthew Fort said: “Tucking into Mr Trotter’s original Pork Crunch is a life-enhancing experience. I think they’ll bring a whole new fan base for Mr Trotter’s snacks. We know there are people out there who love that porky flavour, but who find scratchings, well, a bit hardcore. Our all-British Pork Crunch is for them – light as a cloud, crisp as a crisp, marvellously munchy, and porky as only Mr Trotter’s can make a snack. It’s an oinkingly good addition to our range of snacks.”
